I'm feeling rejuvenated and renewed. Time to check my supplies, clean and organize my studio, and continue to market my work. I 'm also enjoying making new artist friends on Facebook. They inspire and amaze me every day! I wish them all great success:-) Face BookFine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/face-bookSun, 28 Feb 2010 03:39:04 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/face-bookIs Facebook creating a network of artist colonies from all over the world? The Goddess Florida SeriesFine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/the-goddess-florida-seriesWed, 3 Feb 2010 04:07:32 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/the-goddess-florida-seriesI am currently working on The Goddess Florida series which is distantly based on the concept of Roman Goddesses like Venus, Ceres and Diana all in One. I wonder how these goddesses would interact with the natural world in Florida. In celebration of life, they get to protect, nurture and honor nature in ways we can only dream. I reunited with Florida a few years ago and have a new appreciation of her beauty. I have dedicated this series to a more loving and deeper understanding of her natural environment. I am fascinated by her Flora and Fauna –native, domestic, non-indigenous (like myself) –but well acclimated to her environs. She has inspired and motivated me to tell her story through the eyes of a classical Goddess. I work in my Florida studio everyday, where the sunshine is abundant and the light is pure. I enjoy spending sometime each day in the outdoors for inspiration. I enjoy exploring ways to express those inspirations, dreams, and thoughts through the magic of the canvas.Freezing in Florida, how is that possible?Fine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/freezing-in-florida-how-is-that-possibleFri, 8 Jan 2010 05:34:30 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/freezing-in-florida-how-is-that-possibleThe holidays are over, no more ornaments on the tree or big feast on the table. The house if quiet with no more family either, sometimes too quiet. So back to the studio I go, painting with a vengeance, after a two month hiatus. I'm excited about my new series, "Goddess Florida". She's my Artemis, Aphrodite, Terpsichore and Demeter all in One. I connect with her in every way and the colorful paint is building on the canvas. Summer Rolling OnFine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/summer-rolling-onThu, 4 Jun 2009 11:26:02 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/summer-rolling-onI'm working on several paintings on canvas and in my mind. Life is good! April SpringFine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/april-springTue, 21 Apr 2009 02:39:40 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/april-springSpring is my favorite time of year here in Florida. The weather is breezy and cool. I just past my one year anniversary living in this amazing place. It has been a productive year indeed. Wishing you all an abundance of creativity and sparks of genius. March MadnessFine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/march-madnessWed, 4 Mar 2009 07:36:32 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/march-madnessWe're all trying to cope with this economy and I believe NOW is the time to really focus inward. Reflect and create. Build a body of work that you are really proud of. Looking forward to seeing many great works. God bless! Surreal ExpirenceFine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/surreal-expirenceThu, 11 Dec 2008 08:05:08 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/surreal-expirenceI took my family to see Salvador Dali's Museum in St. Petersburg. We were all blown away, of course. They are building another building that will allow all of his works to be seen at one time. Can't wait to see them. I'm painting every day, all sorts of subject matter: wild life, portraits and figures. I even started a sytirical painting of the duality of my aunt and religion. Dali would be proud. Florida Alive and Kickin'Fine Art of Sierra Dantehttp://sierradante.com/blog/florida-alive-and-kickinSun, 13 Jul 2008 08:26:19 GMThttp://sierradante.com/blog/florida-alive-and-kickinMy transition from west to east has been surprisingly smooth. It helps that my new studio in Florida is amazing, with inspirational views of the calm Bay, abundant palm trees and white egrets. My short walks to the beautiful white beaches &peachy sunsets of Gulf are a spiritual experience always.
